Sustainable development at ADA Cosmetics
At ADA, sustainability means concrete steps towards clear and measurable goals, to reduce our impact on the environment and protect the planet for future generations.
Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver
ADA Cosmetics is setting new standards for sustainability in hotel amenities. ADA’s liquid amenities are Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver (certificate no. 12316, valid until 3 September 2028), verifiable in the public Cradle to Cradle registry. The Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard is science-based and one of the world’s most demanding sustainability certifications for products.
Check the certificate in the public registry →ADA’s 2024 carbon footprint is independently verified by TÜV SÜD, in line with ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol. For your hotel’s ESG file we can provide ADA’s carbon data and the ADA Sustainability Report 2025.

Safe. Circular. Responsible.
All ADA cleansing products – shampoos, shower gels and liquid soaps – are made using a cold process, without heating large volumes of water. This reduces emissions by up to 45 kg of CO₂ per tonne of product.

Cosmetics: less plastic, the same brands
SmartCare, SHAPE, Press+Wash, Pump Dispenser, illi — eight dispenser systems, over 40 amenity lines, the same formulas as in the individual bottles. One 10 l SmartCube box replaces 34 dispenser bottles; up to 95% less plastic — the equivalent of up to 4.5 kg of plastic per room per year; up to 30% less liquid wasted, because the container empties completely; 30% lower operating costs. The hygiene of the process is validated by Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and TÜV-certified (2026); every batch carries a unique, traceable Data Matrix code.
ADA Cosmetics — Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver liquid formulas and an EcoVadis Gold medal in 2025 (top 5% of companies assessed in the previous 12 months). The company runs on 100% renewable electricity and was recognised in 2025 as a Green Key Global Preferred Vendor in the US and Canada; within PINK PLANET GROUP, the alliance formed with BWT in 2025, the two companies’ systems together avoid more than 1,000 tonnes of CO2 a year. Cradle to Cradle products earn extra points in GreenSign audits.

Accessories: built to last
ALISEO has made hotel accessories since 1985, from a garage in the Black Forest. The ALISEO PRO hairdryer, launched in 1990, has been almost unchanged for over 30 years. Modular design, spare parts always available, no glued components — a product that can be repaired is not thrown away. The first manufacturer to integrate LED into cosmetic mirrors (2003). FLAKY, the soap grinder (German Design Award 2024), replaces packaged soap with fresh flakes at every use — no packaging. Irons with PFAS-free ceramic soleplates. Waste-separation bins, so recycling becomes a routine in the room. Packaging with a “zero plastic” goal. EcoVadis Bronze, ISO 9001:2015.

Indel B has made hotel minibars since 1967. K Ecosmart uses 0.134 kWh in 24 hours — under 50 kWh a year, up to 77% less than an absorption minibar. The figures are the manufacturer’s (Indel B).
For a 100-room hotel, switching to K Ecosmart saves €3,200–7,800 a year in energy, and the price difference over an absorption minibar is recovered in about 6 months, according to Indel B, at the average EU energy cost (September 2023).*
* Savings: Concept Hotels calculation from Indel B declared consumption (0.136 kWh/24 h K Ecosmart vs 0.575–1.2 kWh/24 h absorption), at €0.20/kWh excl. VAT, the average business electricity price in Romania (Eurostat, second half of 2025). Payback in about 6 months: Indel B, at the average EU energy cost (September 2023). ADA Cosmetics has been a Green Key Global Preferred Vendor since 2025, in the US and Canada — a recognition level for suppliers, not a product certification. The products count towards the amenities criteria; the Green Key certification remains the hotel’s.
