Hotel cosmetics certifications: what each actually covers

For procurement teams, Green Key files and ESG audits. Every claim on this page has a document behind it — and we state just as clearly what a certification does NOT cover, not only what it does.

Every claim gets a row, and every row gets a document. No document, no row.

Three levels that get mixed up often

Example Can it sit on a product page?
Product certification C2C on a specific formula Yes, on that product
Material certification FSC on cardboard, RSPO on palm oil Only about that material
Company / factory certification ISO 9001, IFS, SEDEX No — only about the manufacturer, with attribution

ADA liquid cosmetics are certified Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver (certificate no. 12316, valid until 3 September 2028), verifiable in the public Cradle to Cradle registry.
C2C Certification mark — pending authorization from ADA. The text above is permitted; the mark is not, until approved.

Three limits, stated literally

Covers liquid formulas exclusively — no bar soap is in the certificate. The correct phrasing is “ADA liquid cosmetics are certified…”, never “ADA products”.

Six cosmetics lines are not in the certificate: Lalique, The Skinfluencer, Spirit of Travel, Quintessence, HandHandHand, Eco (ECC/ECE/ECG). On their pages, a C2C mention would be a false claim.

Five lines are only partially covered: Pure Herbs (2 formulas), Chopard Lemon Dulci (body lotion only), Dermacare Sensitive (no shampoo), Element_ry and The Curious Botanist (no shower gel).

Other certifications

The existence of a logo file is not proof of certification. The rows below are prepared sections, not published claims — they activate only once the document exists.

Green Key

Green Key certifies the hotel, not the product — that’s why it isn’t in the table above. Our products can support your hotel’s Green Key file; we tell you which documents we can provide for it. Separately, ADA Cosmetics was recognised in 2025 as a Green Key Global Preferred Vendor, for the US and Canadian markets — a supplier recognition level, not a product certification (ADA Cosmetics Sustainability Report 2025).

What we ask you to believe, and what we don’t

We don’t display a certification logo on a product the certification doesn’t cover. Every claim on this site has a document behind it, and where the certification belongs to the manufacturer, we say so. If you need a certificate for an audit file, we request it and send it to you.

Wording

Correct Wrong
Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver — all ADA liquid amenities, certificate no. 12316, verifiable in the public registry “eco products”
Nordic Swan Ecolabel — ECO by Green Culture, Eco-Boutique, Absolute Nordic Skincare, Estéban, Think Act & Live Responsible “eco-certified”, without naming the label and the line
Formulas with at least 95 % biodegradable ingredients (Eco-Boutique, ECO by Green Culture) “biodegradable”, with no percentage
Refillable dispenser; one 10 l SmartCube box replaces 34 dispenser bottles “plastic-free”
Up to 95 % less plastic waste compared with small portions “zero waste”
Mono-material packaging, rated Made for Recycling (Interzero, 2026) — SmartCare Soft-Touch “100 % recyclable”
Patented — SmartCare membrane, SHAPE drainage, mono-material pumps, Refillution “patented technology” for a cosmetics brand
Actimood® certified (Symrise) — relaxation, wellbeing, energy, biometrically validated “therapeutic fragrance”
FairCosmEthics — the only FairTrade-certified hotel cosmetics brand “fair trade”, generic
K Ecosmart compressor: 0.134–0.137 kWh/24 h, official Indel B 2024 catalogue “minimal consumption”

From 27 September 2026, Directive (EU) 2024/825 bans generic environmental claims. “Eco”, “green”, “nature-friendly” without proof become a compliance issue, not a style choice.
